These original Golliard songs have never been accurately transcribed, but we present the original poetry paired with period melodies, and augmented by lively estampitas. The instrumentation is based on iconography from the period depicting a variety of instruments brought back to Europe during the Crusades. The language of the poetry is ribald and bawdy, and there is nothing sacred about this repertoire, despite it having been composed by 12 and 13th C. German monks. ---pat o'scannell
